The Sparrow

IMG_4188-1

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?

Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your father.

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

So don't be afraid ; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,

Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,

When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me

I sing because I’m happy,

I sing because I’m free,

For His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled, His tender word I hear,

And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;

Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,

When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,

I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Jesse in Blue

  1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

  2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

  3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

  4. When it is in your best interest, always practice obedience.

  5. Let others know when they have invaded your territory.

  6. Take naps and always stretch before rising.

  7. Run, romp and play daily.

  8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

  9. Be loyal.

  10. Never pretend to be something your not.

  11. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

  12. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

  13. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

  14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

  15. Avoid biting, when a simple growl will do.

  16. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

  17. When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

  18. No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout. Run right back and make friends.

Jesus

Jesus

When Jesus says, "Come to me," he doesn't say come to religion, come to a system, or come to a certain doctrine. This is a very personal invitation by God, an invitation to the Saviour.

In essence, Christianity is nothing more , nothing less than a desire and an effort to see Jesus. That's all it is.

We are trying to catch a glimpse of a man, not a program, not a plan, not a system, not a doctrine. We are trying to see a man who called himself the Son of God.

Our God is not aloof ---he is not so far above us that he can't see and understand our problems. Jesus isn't a God who stayed on the mountaintop --- he is a Savior who came down and lived and worked with the people. Everywhere he went, the crowds followed, drawn together by the magnet that was --- and is --- the Savior.

The life of Jesus Christ is a message of hope, a message of mercy, a message of life in a dark world.

                                     ------------------------------------------------------

Blessed Lord and God, we come to you, aware that you pierced our world. You (God), became flesh, you dwelled among us, you saw us in our fallen state, you reach in and pulled us out. You offered us salvation, you offered us mercy . And we are ever thankful.

Shorts to Snow Pants???

Shorts to Snow Pants???_ Hopefully Not!_ LOL. :)

Good Morning one and all. It is a beautiful day to be alive! Yesterday it got up to 27C, here. Had to go scrambling to find something cool to wear. Hopeful it isn't shorts today and snow pants tomorrow. LOL. I tried on some of my summer clothes and found I need to shed about 5-10 lbs. grrr...,I don't like that too much but I shall not complain. It has been a looooooooooog you know what and now it is time to get out walking....walking and some more walking. That and biking usually works for me if I don't go hog wild on the grill, if you know what I mean.

Well it looks like another sunny day is upon us here in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Hope you all have a wonderful day. If you are not fortunate enough to have the warm, sunny day where you are at; Here is hoping the Son is shining in your hearts. And, no that is not a spelling mistake. As you know I am not a stranger to spelling mistakes or slips of my fingers from my keyboard.

Well I need to go shopping and see if I can pick up some threads (clothes) to do me until I shed those extra pounds and then maybe I will go biking. Take Jesse for a walk and just chillax on my deck with hubby and my best fuzzy , wuzzy friend Jesse. Hot Blessings to you all. Dianne

Rain Drops Captured In A Web In My Backyard

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would love to be able to travel all over the world and take beautiful pictures. I did do some traveling in my youth, but I didn't have a camera. Now I do what I do within my means. I have learned to be content with who I am and where life takes me. To be honest I would rather have my camera, than to travel the world without it.

God has given me eyes to see the Beauty that surrounds me. Often times it is in my own back yard.

Going Quackers and 4 Letter Words

Good Morning one and all. Well I thought since we are all going a little quackers with the weather and all, I would try to make this cheerful and hopefully make you smile. Some of us are getting rain while others are getting that four letter stuff we don't even want to talk about anymore. One thing I know it is a "Great Day" to be Alive. Come to think of it, every day is a great day to be alive!

Now let me see! What to do when the sky isn't blue . Well it is a great day to blog, read a good book, listening to some music, sit by the fireplace, spend time with the ones you love, play with your pets, get a head start on your spring cleaning, so you don't have to do it when it is sunny and warm outside. The list goes on and I realize not all of us can stay inside and avoid the you know what. Alas, some of us must go to work. There is another one of those 4 letter words. This is kinda like playing scrabble with 4 letter words , lol. Well you know I thank God I can go to work today. That means I am not sick, I will meet other people, and I will have a little more money to pay some bills. Now there is a 5 letter word that we don't care for either. My Husband use to say, I am glad I have a morgage to pay, because that means I have a house to live in and someday call my own. I guess we just have to put everything into perspective and Thank God for another day! God Bless you All. I am thankfull for each and every one of you! Love and Prayers DianneSmile

Sunday Choir

Sunday Choir

I heard a choir of Canada Geese , flying over this morning; It was music to my ears

I heard the ducks quacking as I walked by the river; It was music to my ears

I heard the roaring of water as it ran down towards the bay; It too was music to my ears

I saw the sun peaking through my window this morning

I saw the man who loves me

I saw the blue sky

I saw the river flow

I saw as I read my Bible

These are just a few of the things I heard and saw today!

Then I prayed and thanked God for my ears and my eyes and told Him I don't know what I would do if I couldn,t hear or see and He reassured me that if I didn't have these things He would find another way to Bless Me.

The Cocoon and The Butterfly

Butterflies

The butterfly is one of the symbols used most often to signify Easter. Its whole life cycle is symbolic of the meaning of the life of Christ. First, there is the caterpillar, which stands for His life on Earth. Second, comes the cocoon stage, portraying the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. The third and final stage is the beautiful butterfly, representing His raising from the dead in a glorified body.

The Cocoon and The Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.
One day a small opening appeared, he sat and
watched the butterfly for several hours as it
struggled to force its body through that little
hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress.
It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it
could and it could go no farther.
Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so
he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the
remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily.
But it had a swollen body and small, shrivelled
wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly
because he expected that, at any moment, the
wings would enlarge and expand to be able to
support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent
the rest of its life crawling around with a
swollen body and shrivelled wings.
It never was able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not
understand was that the restricting cocoon and
the struggle required for the butterfly to get
through the tiny opening were God's way of
forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly
into its wings so that it would be ready for
flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need
in our life. If God allowed us to go through
our life without any obstacles, it would cripple
us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
And we could never fly.
