Autumn Roses In My Garden

October Rose/2010

Yesterdays Rose Still Blooming In My Garden

The Rose

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the winter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

~ Bette Midler

Autumn Rose

If I had a rose for every time I thought of you,

I'd be picking roses for a lifetime.

I would like to dedicate this blog to my dad who was planted this past spring. He is now a Rose in Bloom, in God’s Garden up above.

In a round and about way my dad gave me a gift which I just received . My dad was not a rich man but was generous with what he had. I was able to choose that gift, and these photos were taken with my new camera. I would not have this camera if it weren’t for my dad. I think he would be very happy to know he contributed to one of my life passions. That being photography. I have a lot to learn, but it is fun learning what I love. I enjoy sharing what I see through my lens. I love trying to capture a glimpse of the Beauty of God’s Creation.

I still have roses in my garden. These are the first pictures I took with my new camera. The top photo was taken in late afternoon , and the second one was taken the next morning. I look forward to taking many more photos , and sharing some of them with you.

God Bless you all , and don’t forget to stop and smell the roses along your path, and have a wonderful week whatever you do or don’t do.

Sincerely Dianne :)

We can complain because rose bushes have thorns,
or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.

  13. Wonderful tribute to your dear dad Dianne. The rose is always a thing of beauty to me , I visited an old friend of mine yesterday. As I walked up her path I noticed some late roses , although the buds were closed they still held a beauty of thier own. Unfortuntly I didn't have my camera with me. Lovely post, Bette Milder is a darling and I just love her movies and her songs. Sometimes they bring a tear to my eye , thank you Dianne Hugs and have a lovely week. Sheila x
