My husband and I decided to throw the cameras in the van, and go for a drive today since it was a beautiful, sunny, mild day. The temperature was around 52 degrees. We don’t have a lot of spring colors yet but most of the snow is gone.
I decided to go look for some newborns, but didn’t come across any. What I did find was these two stallions, in a field, and they were feeling sort of frisky, and playful. One is a Belgium Stallion Pony, while the other is a Palomino Stallion which has been neutered, so the owner of the horses told me, when he came out to make sure I wasn’t planning to rustle his horses. I reassured him I was only a amateur photographer out to take a few pictures.
The Palomino was the quiet one, just standing by a fence, when the young pony decided after coming up to the fence to see me, to put on a show for me so to speak. He went around the second fence and struck up a conversation with the older stallion, and next thing you know they were horsing around, and having some fun. They were not fighting each other, just having some harmless fun, and showing off for the lady with the camera, which happened to be me. Needless to say, I had fun capturing this special moment, with my camera. This is the first time I have seen two horses playing like this. It was pretty cool. I love horses, and I grew up around horses on my grandparent’s farm, but never had seen something like this accept maybe while watching horses on television, or on a movie. Today I seen real live action. It really made my day. I haven’t been out much with my camera, and today was special.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my captures of the day.
Have a wonderful week, and God Bless each and every one of you.
Love and Care,
Dianne :)

I really did enjoy seeing your photos! I can't remember the last time I've been all that inspired to take photos of anything around here. I think that will likely come when it warms up and there's more color to enjoy out there. We've lined up a couple of trips to some cabins this summer and I'm longing for that. Bless Dianne, thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are a work of art. Great shots, all of them. Thank you for sharing them with us.

ReplyDeleteDianne,
ReplyDeleteThese photos are beautiful! We have horses at the end of our road and I often go down there to look for knobby kneed newborns too, but the rugged coat, long manes and coloring of these horses is just stunning! I would have stayed there all day. Will you surprise the owner with a print? (-: It's brown here in WI...can't wait for spring color!
Oh Dianne! I LOVED these. They were great! I too have not seen any horse play like that! Now I can certainly tell where the term came from. :-)))
ReplyDeleteThank you all so very much for your visits, and comments.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I just printed out one of the photos tonight and yes I do plan on going back to give the owner a picture or two of his horses. That is the least I can do. :)
