Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird
This is my second attempt at capturing these amazing little birds. I have to say they are a challenge as they are so fast. I was at a clients a few weeks ago and as I was working away, I saw this Beautiful Hummingbird from the window, and ran and got my camera, and took a few quick shots. It had been raining for most of the day. You can see some of the raindrops on the feeder.
I took this photo the same day. The little Hummer really liked the colorful glass in this hanging mobile decoration, and so did I.
And there she is way up in the tree
looking as pretty as can be.
No person , camera, or lens got wet in the making of these images, as I was standing just inside the patio doors looking out. The bird got wet I think, unless she was fast enough to dodge the rain drops, and she may have just done that, or maybe she didn’t care as she seemed to be in her own little world, and loving it. :)
And as for me; well I reluctantly put my camera away and went back to work. Yes, I got all my work done and headed for home. I was late but that didn’t matter because It was worth it, being able to watch, and capture this sweet little Hummer. :)

I can’t believe it is almost the end of Sept. and Autumn snuck up on me and past me before I knew it.
We don’t have much color yet, and it is still fairly warm as in anywhere between 15-20 degrees during the day, and has got as low as 2 degrees Celsius during the night. No Jack Frost here yet! :)
I am hoping to post as few more summer pictures, as I always seem to be trying to catch up, and keep up. I am also looking forward to the colorful tapestry of Autumn. Every Season is Beautiful and has so much to offer.
I want to wish you all a very happy , and wonderful Autumn with all it has too offer. Looking forward to visiting your blogs as well and seeing, and reading all about what is happening in your corner of the world.
See you soon!
Dianne :)

They really are amazing to see and watch and the colors of a hummer are s so brilliant on all of them also.
ReplyDeleteI watched the little chick a dees the other day and decided to read about them. Interesting how they thrive and talk. The Fair weather is about over my friend here anyways but still very warm for this time of year. Have a wonderful color filled fall Dianne. :)
Hi Dianne, we are supposed to get snow next week on Tuesday. So I have to get my flowers, that I want to keep, in before then.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures Dianne it's funny she seems to attracted to the coloured glass. So pretty and indeed in her own little World, as so are we at times I suppose.

Oh Dianne, the first humming bird is so stunning! Such detail and color, wow. I love birds too, we have humming birds at two of our feeders. You are off the chart here with your beautiful photography. My eyes got pretty big when I got to your page. Thank you for sharing your love of birds. I too have seen humming birds go for anything that is brilliant in color, isn't it funny. They are the cutest little things.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be thinking of you when I am away, and toast you with some good wine. I agree with you I don't think I want grapes on my feet. But I will LOVE watching others do so. Take care, and enjoy our fall season that upon us all.
That first photo is Amazing! I can't believe the detail that I can see! She's beautiful and your photo is allowing us to see this bird that is usually too fast for the eye to see and enjoy. :) Your posts always make me melt with all the beauty in them! Hope you are doing well and having a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteSo nice hearing from you HappyFlower.
Thankyou. :)
Sorry to take so long to get here. But I do try to never miss any of your wonderful blogs. Your hummer are so beautiful. Some really great shots. I didn't even attempt this year. My windows were just way to dirty. Ah but between the rain today I got all the outside windows cleaned. That is such a relief for me, even got the car washed before it started raining again. Our hummers left very early this year already in August. Oh I can't believe the colors in my yard with the rain it has just brighten everything up. Well off to your next blog.
