Starting Over

Start Over

When you've trusted Jesus and you've walked His way,
When you've felt His hand lead you day by day,
But you're steps now take you another way,
Start over.

When you've made your plans and they've gone awry,
When you've tried your best 'til there's no more try,
When you've failed yourself and you don't know why,
Start over.

When you've told your friends what you plan to do,
When you've trusted them but they didn't come through,
Now you're all alone and it's up to you,
Start over.

When you've failed your kids and they're grown and gone,
When you've done your best but it turned out wrong,
And now your grandchildren have come along,
Start over.

When you've prayed to God so you know His will,
When you've prayed and prayed but you don't know still,
When you want to stop 'cause you've had your fill,
Start over.

When you think you're finished and want to quit,
When you've bottomed out in life's deepest pit,
When you've tried and tried to get out of it,
Start over

When the year's been long and successes few,
When December comes and you're feeling blue,
God gave a January just so you could
Start over.

Starting over means victories won.
Starting over means a race well run.
Starting over means the Lord's "Well done!"
So don't just sit there;
Start over.

Woodrow Kroll: I'm a Bible teacher, not a poet, but I was flying back from Chicago to Lincoln, Nebraska, here where our Back to the Bible International Headquarters is located. I was reflecting on God's grace, how throughout our lives, He gives us opportunities once we mess things up to start over and to get it right.

Actually, I took out a piece of paper and I began to write and I never stopped until this poem was finished. Let me share it with you.

http://www.backtothebible.org/index.php/Back-to-the-Bible-Radio-Program/The-God-of-the-Second-Chance.html

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Often when I am working at a client’s house, I listen to UCB Radio. One of the programs I listen to is Back To The Bible. I love the teaching of God’s Word. It strengthens my Faith, and makes my day that much brighter. I turn my focus to the Lord and listen to what He has to say to me. He uses people. He will even use us if we are willing vessels. I have so much to learn, and I just wanted to share this poem with all who take the time to read it. Maybe by doing so someone else may be Blessed and Encouraged as was I, as I listened to this poem on the radio, and now share it with you.

I have experienced God’s Grace so many times in my life. I thank God that He gave me a second chance, and continues to show me His Grace and Mercy, each and every day. I would be lost without Him in my Life.  I am far from perfect and have made many mistakes in my life, but the best thing I ever did was give my life to Jesus.

My one desire is that no one would ever put me on a pedestal, for I would surely fall off of it. Only the Lord Jesus deserves to be lifted up, and Praised.

Eph 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Eph 2:9
not of works, lest anyone should boast.

That is what I mean when I say, “I am walking in His Grace”. I am a sinner saved by Grace and I strive to live for Him with the help of His Holy Spirit . I am human, I am not perfect, I make mistakes and I sometimes fall but He is always there at the mention of His name to pick me up and give me another chance if I truly have a repentant heart.

This is my thoughts that I share with you this day. Sincerely and with Love in my heart, Dianne :)

Although you can’t see the Sun, it is there rising above the horizon. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it is not there. It is rather silly to say, “I won’t believe it until I see it”.

It is Fact. You can’t always go by sight or by your  feelings, for sometimes what you see or feel isn’t baste on the Facts or The Truth of the matter.

Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

By Faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3

Well I started this post on Saturday night, and now it is officially Sunday Morning.

I have been up since 5:30 Sat. morning. I woke up and the thought crossed my mind to get up and try and capture the sunrise. I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep to no avail, so up I got and threw on my clothes, made coffee, grabbed a granola bar, and my camera bag and out the door I went, leaving my hubby rubbing his eyes and giving me a kiss , my little dog by his side .

I headed down to the Bay, One of my favourite places to go. This is the same place I took the photo that is on my blog header up above. Just a different day.

I took a few photos , and then after the fog and clouds moved in, I headed back to the van and drank my morning coffee and did some reading, and some praying. Some of you came to mind. It was a wonderful morning , so quiet and peaceful and my soul was refreshed. Yes it was good to be still, after another long and busy week.

A little time later I got out of my van and went and took a few more pictures of things that crossed my path. I will save them for another day. Hope you enjoyed coming along on this small part of my journey. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Blessing to all.

Sincerely, Dianne :) and Hugs to all my friends.

Morning Glory

IMG_7038 Morning Glory

Flowers have a mysterious and subtle influence upon the feelings,

not unlike the strains of music.

They relax the tenseness of the mind.

They dissolve it’s vigour.

Written by:  Henry Ward Beecher

---------------------------------------------------------

As I was walking by a house on my street the other day, I noticed these Morning Glories. I have walked by and drove by many times paying no mind, but this past Saturday as I walked by they captured my attention. It was a sun and cloudy day, and windy and so I took but one shot. This is the result. This was taken with a 28-200 lens, hand held. I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out.

Our street has been a mess and under construction all summer long, since the first of May. It has been hard to look beyond the dirt and gravel, rusty pipes, trenches , and noisy machines on our street. They finally put the curbs in today, and hopefully soon will add sidewalks , and then pave our road once again. It has been a real challenge to see the beauty on our street this summer, but finally we can walk on it once again, and hopefully will be able to park on our street, and in our driveways again soon. Seeing these flowers has brought me a feeling that all is well in our neighbourhood and soon will be back to normal, and much improved. It will be worth it all in the end. Sometimes , things have to get worse before they get better.

I hope you all are having a good week and enjoying the beauty around you.

Sincerely Dianne :)

There Is a Reason For Everything

Peace At The Pond

Peace By The Pond

This little pond is a 10 minute walk north of my house,

and is the beginning of my beloved biking trail.

Sometimes I walk and sometimes I bike.

Sometimes I just go and sit quietly. It is a sanctuary to me.

God is always with me no matter where I am…

But, it is good to find a quiet place ,

Away from the busyness and noise of life.

It is one way I keep my sanity in a world that

places so many demands on me.

When it is quiet and I really listen,

I can hear the voice of God…

Not in an audible voice but in my spirit,

And in the things around me,

He uses all the senses that He created in me

To draw me near to Him.

It had been awhile since I had been to the pond.

Two things that He has been speaking to me about this week,

is to “Be Still and know He is God”. Actually He has been

trying to tell me that for awhile. Sometimes when I don’t

“Listen”… He will stop me dead in my tracks. That can be painful,

but sometimes necessary.

That brings me to the second thing He has been showing me this week.

“There is a Reason for everything that happens in my life”.

I have had good times and hard times in my life but I have never

walked alone as long as Jesus has been my Lord and Saviour .

So no matter what happens in my life or yours….. God is Good

and Loves His Children…. He wants us to stay close to Him,

and if we wander He will do what it takes to bring us back

into His Loving Arms. If we fall , He will be there waiting to pick us up!

God Bless you all and remember God Loves You .

Sincerely Dianne :)

Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth

IMG_6139 (2) Hummingbird Moth

These little critters come back to the same flowers

every summer, or so it seems.

There is a group of daytime flying moths referred to as Hummingbird moths. These moths are members of the Sphinx or Hawk moth family. Included in this unique group are the White lined Sphinx, the Snowberry Clearwing, the Slender Clearwing and the Hummingbird moth. The term clearwing means exactly that......their wings are primarily a clear membrane like bees, wasps or flies. Only the out edge portion of their wings are covered with scales.

There are three predominant members in this group being the Snowberry, the Slender and the Hummingbird Clearwings. Of the three, the Hummingbird Clearwing is the largest having a body length of 3 to 3.5 cm and a wingspan of 5 cm. These moths feed on low Blueberry, Snowberry, Honeysuckle, Dogbane and Hawthorn. Flight action is similar to that of a Hummingbird in that they have the ability to hover and while feeding extend their proboscis for the purpose of gathering nectar. This further confuses novices as the uncoiled proboscis gives the impression of a beak. Definitely an intriguing sight for the unfamiliar, particularly when observed for the first time.

     ……………………………………

I added a description here to the last entry as it is something I don’t see very often. I just discovered the Hummingbird Moth a couple of years ago near Gananoque ,Ont. near the Ivy lee bridge which crosses over to New York State, from Ontario, Canada.

Jodi, known as Nature Nut has a hummingbird moth similar to the one I have captured here a couple of weeks ago, but hers are a different kind I think. Those of you who know her, check it out if you haven’t yet seen them. She has some excellent photos of them as well as many other fabulous photos. She is an excellent photographer and has a wonderful Nature Photography Web site. You won’t be disappointed.

If anyone knows the name of the red bugs or the orange butterfly, please let me know so I can added it to the title.

These are a few random photos I took with my 90mm, macro lens . The most recent being the Hummingbird Moths, which I took a couple of weeks ago when hubby and I were in Gananoque for the day.

Have a wonderful week ahead and enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

She had a safe arrival. She was put in the nursery for observation due to high levels of sugar in her blood. Please continue to pray for her that her blood sugars will go back to a normal and healthy level and that she will be a healthy bouncing baby girl. I told her I would buy her a camera for her birthday next year and we will go clicking the wonders of her world.

Thank you for your prayers and your support. I sure do appreciate it. Mom is doing well also. I give honour and praise to My Lord for answering yours and my prayers. He does have His hand on her life.

I brought  home my 5 yr. old granddaughter Jenna for the night.  She was thrilled to see her new baby sister.

I had no idea what my next post would be. Little did I know my new granddaughter would be born 3 weeks early and thank God she arrived safely. I am so tickled pink. :) Dianne

P.S All photos taken by me ( Grandma ) with my new little Fugifilm Finepix S1000fd camera. The video on this little camera is amazing. I am glad I got it or I would not have been able to do a video.  I will not post it though. Hope you all understand.

Baby and mom doing fine

Good Morning one and all, I just got a report from my son that Courtney is doing fine and is with mom. Her blood sugars are normal and she has got a clean bill of health and mom and baby will be able to go home in the next couple of days. Truly this is an answer to your prayers and mine.  Thank God and each one of you for your prayers and support. I really appreciate it. :) Dianne

Aug.4th,2008

I got to hold my precious granddaughter for the first time today. My heart melted like butter. I will never be the same again. I held her until I had to give her up to all those waiting in line. It was then that I once again picked up my camera and couldn't stop clicking. This is only a few images that I took today. I have 3 very precious grandchildren. All girls.  Tesa, Jenna and now Courtney. I am very protective of them and my family but I just had to post this new photo album. :) Dianne

Courtney was 5lbs. 2 oz. at Birth. She is 4lbs. 13oz. today. She is so tiny and she has developed some jaundice as well but the Drs. seem to think she will be fine and that it is somewhat normal for premature babies. They sure don't keep them in the hospital very long these days.  Please remember her in your prayers , that she will start to gain some weight and not loose anymore or we wont be able to find her in her bassinet. :) Grandma ( Dianne)

Courtney is now a week old. I stopped in to see how everyone was doing. I held my granddaughter  and this time she was awake and her beautiful blue eyes were open and she smiled and grinned at me and made all kinds of wonderful sounds. I did not get any pictures of this amazing time as I was too caught up in that special moment . She fell asleep and mom was getting her ready to go out in her stroller seen here. It is so neat as her car seat converts into a stroller. You can see how tiny she is although we think she has gained some weight and the jaundice is fading away.

A Rose From My Garden Just For You

IMG_5467 copy

A Rose From My Garden … I Give To You

……………………….

A young, new preacher was walking with an older, more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of the older preacher. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry. Because of his high respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact…It wasn’t long before he realized how impossible it was to do so.

Noticing the younger preacher’s inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it intact, the older preacher began to recite the following poem…

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God’s design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I’ll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

~ © Bryan T. Burgess ~

………………………

I just came across this poem and thought it would go hand in hand with this rose from my garden. Just another one of God’s little miracles with a wonderful life lesson . May we all stop and smell the roses along the pathway of our lives. May we all stop and listen and we just might hear the voice of God whispering our name and reassuring us to keep trusting Him to guide us along lives pathway, for He loves us and promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us.

God is Good no matter what the circumstances may be.

Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Hugs and Smiles

Sometimes we are like this tree

Life gets rough

We feel like we are drowning

Life seems out of control

Where do we turn to?

I turned to Jesus

I am rooted in Him

He is my Rock

I stand firmly in Him

He brings stability to my life

I shall not be moved

So deep, flowing waters

Be on your way!

The waters will subside

and

Like a tree, I will continue to grow stronger

Because I am grounded in Him

He is my Rock

He is my Salvation

He has set me free

I will take the calm along with the storm

Like the goose I will seek the pond

Like the seagull, I will fly

Like the tree, I will stand against the waters

Because I know I am in His Hands

I will not let fear rule over me

By His Grace

I live my life

Day by Day

Until the very end.

A Father’s Love

A Father’s Love

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, "OK, dad, I'm ready. "His Pastor dad asked, "Ready for what?" "Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out." Dad responds, "Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring down rain." The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, "But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, even though it's raining?" Dad answers, "Son, I am not going out in this weather." Despondently, the boy asks, "Dad, can I go? Please?" His father hesitated for a moment then said, "Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be careful son. "Thanks Dad!" And with that, he was off and out into the rain. His eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract.
After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted. Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the doorbell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered. He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer. Finally, this eleven-year-old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him. Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch! He rang again and this time the door slowly opened. Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly asked, "What can I do for you, son? With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said, "Ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very last Gospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE."With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave. She called to him as he departed. "Thank you, son! And God Bless You! " Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service began, he asked, "Does anybody have any testimony or want to say anything?" Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet. As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face, "No one in this church knows me. I've never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live. So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standing on that chair, so lonely and broken-hearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought, "I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away." I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly. I thought to myself again, "Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me." I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder. When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you! The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, "Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU." Then he gave me this Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.
As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't be needing them any more. You see---I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel who came just in the nick of time and by so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell."
There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honour to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated. He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably. Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honour for his son... Except for One. Our Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heaven shouted praises and honour to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named. Heaven is for His people! Remember. God's message CAN make the difference in the life of someone close to you. "Faith is the affirmation and the act that bids eternal truth be present fact
.

I found this story in my archives and I thought I would share it. Some of you may remember when I posted this on my other blog , and some may not.

We can all make a difference in some ones life by just being kind, and showing a little Grace. It doesn’t always have to be something big. Some of the best acts of kindness are the little, simple things that can make all the difference in the world, and you may or may not ever know what it means to that person. A smile as you are walking by another person , or a prayer for someone you noticed as you are driving by on your way to work or wherever.

I just want to say that many of you have made a difference in my life with your thoughts , prayers, kind words, comments, and all that you share. Thank You! Dianne :)

The Day God Called You Home (Archive) 05/17/2010

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.

When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.

You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.

It is a beautiful , sunny morning and I heard the birds singing in the distance. I had a quiet morning, just reflecting on my dad’s life, did some reading and quiet prayer. I have many thoughts and feelings and I am taking things as they come. I need to get up and get going and enjoy this beautiful day that the Lord has given me. I have my moments and grieve I will, but I am getting on with my life as my dad would want me too. He is getting on with his life in his new home. Someday we will meet again and he is ever in my heart and memories. If I did not morn that would mean I didn’t love him , and I love him dearly. It is because of my mom and dad and their love for each other, that I am here and have life.  I am ever grateful for the gift of life. May I live my life wisely and to the fullest. This is the first day of the rest of my life. This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.

I want to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. You really did and do make a difference with your outpouring of love, prayers, support, words of sympathy, encouragement, kindness , scripture verses, photos, graphics and so much more.  It means more to me and my family than you will ever know.

God Bless each and everyone of you.

Love and Gratefulness

P.S   I hope to check on the swans later today. I was down yesterday and so far I haven’t seen any baby swans. Mom is still on the nest and dad is sticking pretty close.  I will keep you all updated.

Have a Beautiful Day!!!
